Back in the Racing Saddle

Jordan notched his first 2 victories of the cross season at the USGP Planet Bike Cup in Madison, WI. He showed good form, winning the Juniors 10-16 both Saturday and Sunday. Congrats Jordan.

The elite race was a who's who of American CX racing. Amazing how fast those guys are. Jordan and I even got to work the pits for Planet Bike during the elite race.

I raced the UCI Master 35+ Cat 1/2/3 races both days. I was way outclassed, as many of these guys are former and current national champions. I finished 41st of about 50 both days.

Baker Orchard Cyclocross Race

Minneapolis Bicycle Racing Club in conjunction with Baker Orchard and Tom Nielsen - Coldwell Banker Burnet will be promoting the Baker Orchard Cyclocross Race on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

A marquis feature of the course is racing through the recently renovated 100 year old orchard barn. The race location, Centuria, WI, is just 60 minutes from downtown, just across the MN/WI border from Taylors Falls (about 10 minutes past the Red Barn CX location).

There is a $500 cash prize list plus merchandise. This is sure to be fun for the whole family, so bring them along!

Maren wuvs Beetles

Decided to get an extra car for Maren to drive. She still has to ask to use it, but it will cut down on her need to drive the Suburban. Plus, we kind of owed her with all the money we spend on Jordan's biking.

Jordan Scores Invite to USAC National Camp

Jordan has received an invitation to attend the USA Cycling National Junior Talent ID Camp, which will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, October 8-12. This camp serves as Talent Identification for the US National Team Programs. Click HERE for a write-up on last year's camp.

Jordan is thrilled because he was unable to attend the regional camp in June because the minimum age to attend is 14, and he didn't turn 14 until July. He earned the invite based on the merit of his performance at LAJORS events and US Nationals. Congratulations Jordan.
