A busy weekend ahead...

On tap for this weekend:

Friday:
-Cross country skiing

Saturday:
-318 Ride with the boys.
-Catch some of the Loppet Ice Racing.

Sunday:
-Flanders Ride
-Catch some of the Loppet Ski Racing.

On a completely different subject, last fall, a local TV news reporter contacted me and wanted to do a story about Jordan and me. He follows my blog, and was fascinated by all the miles and races Jordan and I enjoy together as father and son. I left it up to Jordan to decide, and he said no. He doesn't want the attention. Maren is the same way. What a great couple of kids I have.

Flanders Fitting Session

Jordan got to ride his new Time Edge Pulse for the first time today, at a fitting session at Flanders Cycles. With a few minor adjustments, the bike fits great.

Jordan tends sit on the tip of his saddle in both the Time Trial and road positions. Simply lowering his saddle a little, caused him to move farther back, giving him a little more power.

Jordan's Time Machine, almost ready

Just waiting for the 7900 Crankset with Junior gearing (52/39), and front derailleur. Should come in under 16lbs.

Review of my new ride.

My new Time Cross Pro Team fits and rides perfect. Yesterday was not only my first ride on the bike, but also my first ride ever on a carbon frame. Obviously overkill for winter riding, but it's all I've got right now.

McLovin's Time Machine

All sweated up after a trainer ride. He can't wait to ride the Time.

Just waiting for the DuraAce 7900 Group, and a fast set of wheels.

Hands down, the best handlebar on the planet.

Michael, I'm being towed...

Kit was towed while Knight Rider was riding today. They were reunited $160 later.

Pre-Ride: Zim, Teresa, Jordan, Jack, and Skibby

Finished fixing Jimmer's bike: Skibby, Teresa, Jim, Jordan, Zim, and Jack.

Today was an adventure. Unloading the bike from the truck, I checked my crank arm to discover the retention bolt had failed. I pinched my knees all the way to the shop where Jim was able to find a replacement. During the installation, he noticed the frame is cracked at the Bottom Bracket.

I rode it anyway. Over the course of my ride, my left pedal worked it's way off it's spindle. It never came off, but I think it's toast now. Crank Bros. Egg Beaters gets 2 thumbs down from me at this point.

The lowest of lows...

Yesterday, I brought chili for lunch, but had a lunch meeting instead. Normally, I just leave it in the community fridge for the next day.

So I get in the morning, and notice that some low life ate about half of it! WTF? That is disgusting, and why not just finish it? I better not find out who it was...

15 year old girls and their cellphones...

Maren's Cell Phone Usage last month:
1650 minutes = 27.5 hours.
1701 text messages = 57/day.

She had 2 separate calls that lasted 130 minutes, and 120 minutes each.

Thankfully we have a family plan with unlimited text message plan, and pretty much all of her minutes are mobile-to-mobile and nights and weekends, which are free.

What is even more amazing is that she never uses her cellphone during school hours, since it is forbidden.

My Cell Phone Usage last month:
499 minutes = 8 hours
12 text messages

I'm an amateur.

Cross Training

I finally got around to doing some of this yesterday. Felt good. The trails were very fast, which are my favorite conditions.
