On top of the Col de la Croix de Fer on the Iron Cross. This climb went on forever, with lots of changes in gradient, including descending into, and back out of 2 intermediate valleys:
At the top of the Col du Mollard, the second climb of the death ride. We were all overheating at this point:

iban mayo looks a little heavy following Painman in that first pic.
That's Rob, a doctor from Canada that was part of our tour group. What a character. He wore the orange kit every day, not sure how many clean ones he had? His catch phrase for the week was "We're going to start out real hard, then we're going to pick it up, and sprint at the end."
He was trading cold beers out of our mountain top fridge for shwagg on top of the Colombiere. Good stuff.
